GROUNDED

Chip Mitchell is the Lead Evangelist of the Greater Philadelphia Church of Christ (GPCC).  GPCC is home to more than 600 members who work and live in the Greater Philadelphia, South Jersey and Delaware area.  

Chip leads a team professional ministry staff comprised of evangelists, elders, women’s ministry leaders, administrators, interns and special interest group volunteers.  As the Lead Evangelist, Chip oversees and trains church leaders from across the state of Pennsylvania. 

Chip is a highly sought after orator for faith-based and secular organizations around the world. Chip understands the challenges of the urban environment.  His passion for service has lead him to speak to schools, recovery agencies, educators in both the public and private sector.  Chip has spoke on topics ranging from developing personal potential to addressing inner-city concerns.  Chip is known to possess an unique and powerful storytelling ability which he uses to drive home lessons of servanthood and leadership through humor and insight.

In addition to ecclesiastical responsibilities, Chip volunteers as a mentor and servant leader with three Philadelphia based nonprofit organizations, One Day at a Time (ODAAT), HOPE Worldwide and HOPE for Kids.  ODAAT offers drug and alcohol services to 50,000 people seeking shelter and support in their recovery efforts. Hope for Kids offers 3,000 overnight campers Christian values of leadership, teamwork, and environmental stewardship.  As a volunteer and GPCC partner to these organization, Chip and his congregation has had an opportunity to impact many individuals throughout greater Philadelphia and the world.

Chip received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from University of Massachusetts in 1990.  After graduation, Chip began an impressive career at ADP Services taking on roles in sales, marketing, and human resources Chip left ADP in 1993 to pursue his dream to become a full time minister.
